This week marks the beginning of LGBTQ+ History Month and National HIV Testing Week.

Each year we recognise the progress that we have made in the fight for equality – and the strides that we still need to take.

It’s A Sin has been an incredibly powerful and moving depiction of the lived experience of the LGBTQ+ community and the impact of HIV, particularly on the community during the 1980s.

Thankfully HIV is no longer a death sentence.

People who are diagnosed early have normal life expectancy and those on treatment cannot pass it on.

It is now possible for us to end HIV altogether.

Labour has committed to ending new cases of HIV by 2030 – and we are supporting the blueprint laid out by the HIV Commission.

Testing for HIV can be done at home and it is absolutely free.

Anyone who wants a free testing kit can order one at https://freetesting.hiv.

Together we can, and we will, end HIV.
