The Government chose to vote against removing eye-watering visa charges of £2,389 for UK veterans born in the Commonwealth.
Labour takes seriously the extraordinary service delivered by every member of our Armed Forces. We will continue to push for these extortionate charges to be scrapped.
No soldier who has served our country with courage and distinction should have to pay to live in the UK.
The Government’s decision not to scrap visa fees for our brave Commonwealth veterans is an insult.
