I visited the National Memorial Arboretum last week and while I was there I went to see the new National Miners’ Memorial which was unveiled in September.

It pays tribute to the men, women and children who worked in coal mining over hundreds of years and the many who lost their lives doing so.

They worked in dark and dangerous conditions to power our nation.
