Supporting Survivors of Modern Slavery

There was an extremely important debate in Parliament this week on tackling the appalling practice of modern slavery.

Victims of modern slavery can be trafficked and forced into bonded labour, marriage, sexual exploitation and crime, and it’s estimated up to 16,000 people here in the UK are affected.

Prevention and protection is crucial, but I used the opportunity to speak of Northern College’s pioneering ‘Free Thinking’ programme which offers support to survivors to help them reintegrate back into everyday life.
