Five years of failed Tory privatisation of probation services have left dangerous offenders inadequately supervised.

Reoffending rates have risen to 32%. My constituent, Jacqueline Wileman, was hit and killed when four men, with nearly 100 convictions between them, stole an HGV in 2018.

Cases cannot simply be passed over.

There needs to be more funding for probation services.

In 2017 the Government committed to reviewing sentencing guidelines for convictions of death by dangerous driving but it’s 2020 and they haven’t changed.

I will continue to stand alongside Jackie’s brother, Johnny Wood, in his fight to get justice.
