Constituents are invited to pay tribute to an individual, regiment or community that has a connect to their constituency for the House of Commons Remembrance Garden

I am pleased to be able to invite constituents of Barnsley East to put forward nominations for a Remembrance tribute in Parliament this year.

In partnership with the Royal British Legion (RBL), the House of Commons is installing a Remembrance Garden to honour 100 years of Remembrance.

This garden will be the first of its kind, with every Member of Parliament from across the country invited to plant a plaque that pays tribute to an individual, regiment, or community that has a connection to their constituency that they would like to remember.

I want to encourage residents of Barnsley East to get in touch to make a suggestion about who the local plaque should honour.

Nominations can be sent via email to stephanie.peacock.mp@parliament.uk, or by phone 01226 743483 by Friday 12 November.

I am honoured to have the opportunity to plant a plaque representing the immense contribution of Barnsley to our country this Remembrance Week. I’d like to thank the RBL and the Speaker of the House of Commons for setting up this initiative.

I encourage anyone with a local veteran in mind to come forward and nominate them or their regiment. Together, we can remember the ultimate sacrifice made by all of our Barnsley heroes in order to keep us safe.
