Stephanie is encouraging local residents to have their say on a new law to ensure victims of crime are treated fairly.

After years of campaigning from Stephanie and the Labour Party, the Government have promised to deliver a new ‘victims’ law’ that aims to improve the support available for victims within the criminal justice system.

To inform this law, the Government have launched a public consultation.

All members of the public, particularly those with experience being a victim of crime and anti-social behaviour, are welcome to complete the consultation online.

Ms Peacock commented:

‘I am aware that many local residents have concerns about criminal activity, safety and anti-social behaviour in Barnsley. This public consultation is a chance to have your voice heard on how the victims of crime are treated within the criminal justice system.

‘I would encourage any constituent, especially those who have been victim of crime, to come forward and complete the public consultation before February 3rd.’
