Barnsley’s Health on the High Street at the Alhambra is a brilliant new way of delivering care where people need it.
It was great that the Health Secretary Wes Streeting was in Barnsley to open it.
Thanks to the investment and leadership of Barnsley’s Labour Council, this new multi-million pound initiative makes health services such as optometry, rheumatology and dermatology more accessible.
Alongside this new centre opening, it is hugely welcome that the Health Secretary has announced £5.1 million for cancer services in South Yorkshire, which are too often a postcode lottery.
Labour is investing in our National Health Service.
