This week marked #InternationalWorkersMemorialDay.
We remember the dead but continue to fight for the living.
Today I am thinking of all those whose loved ones left for work and did not return.
This Labour Government are proud to support workers. One way that we have done this is through our Employment Rights Act, which:
✅ Introduces rights to guaranteed hours, reasonable notice of shifts and compensation for cancelled shifts.
❌ Ends unfair fire and rehire practices.
⛑️ Protects workers from unfair dismissal from the first day of employment.
👧 Ensuring that paternity and parental leave are day one rights.
💷 Removing the three-day waiting period and earnings threshold for Statutory Sick Pay.
