Lots of you have been in contact with me about speeding concerns in Barnsley, particularly on the A635 between Stairfoot roundabout and Darfield.
I wrote to the Department for Transport to urge them to take action to prevent future incidents on this road.
– Three crossing points with construction starting in October 2022, with completion planned for March 2023
– Two crossing wardens
– Reviewing of signage
The police camera van operates on this stretch of road where possible.
There will also be a review of speeding near schools in the borough.
There is no excuse for speeding. I will continue to push on this issue to make sure our roads are as safe as possible.
