Today is the start of UK Parliament Week. It is a great opportunity to engage with democracy, both local and national, and  to learn how Parliament can engage and empower us.

Each year, over 1 million people take part in different UK Parliament activities.

Across Barnsley East, different schools and youth groups will be taking part and I wish them well in all the activities that they are hosting. It’s a great opportunity to learn more about what your elected officials do.

I live in Darfield and each week I go to Westminster to raise different issues, ideas and questions that local people put forward to me.
