I recently spoke in a debate about public access to defibrillators in Parliament.

Of course, there is an initial cost usually picked up by communities and voluntary organisations hindering public access to defibrillators.

This is disproportionately affecting poorer communities, where there is a higher risk of cardiac arrest and fewer local defibrillators.

People should not be at a higher risk of dying from cardiac arrest because of where they live.

A special thanks goes to Hoyland, Milton and Rockingham Ward Alliance for funding five new defibrillators in Barnsley East.

The British Heart Foundation have put together online tool The Circuit to track defibs across the country. You can see defibrillators in your area, or register a device, on their website. Access The Circuit here.
