Stephanie Calls for Government Action on Former Mineworkers’ Pensions in the Budget

The Government have taken £4.4 billion from miners’ pensions, and this is set to rise to £6 billion.

Before the Budget on the 15th March, I co-ordinated a call from MPs across the country for Government action for justice for miners’ pensions.

I was disappointed that the Chancellor did not take this opportunity to deliver justice for former mineworkers to receive the compensation they deserve.

I will continue to push for government action on the Mineworkers’ Pension Scheme.
