Thank you to everyone who attended the cost of living event held by myself and Dan Jarvis MP at Barnsley College.

The event was also attended by charities and organisations who could offer some advice and support for dealing with the cost of living as it rises.

Barnsley Council’s Warm Homes Team provided advice on how to access grants for heating and insulation, and how to keep warm for less. You can find out more here.

The More Money in Your Pocket team provided specific cost of living advice. They have fantastic free resources available here.

South Yorkshire Police provided some great advice on how to keep your home safe and protect your family.

I was pleased that AgeUK Barnsley could join us to offer guidance to older people in the local area about how to stay warm and access support.

We appreciate all the work Barnsley Foodbank do to provide information on how to donate to those in need, and how people who are struggling can access their services.

A big thank you to Barnsley College, who not only had a stall informing people of the cost of living support and education courses they can offer, but also provided the space for the event.

It was good to chat to Reds in the Community, whjo do great work to create lots of local activities.

We hope this provided some useful information to help with household finances as the cost of living remains high.
