I was pleased to hold an event where dozens of MPs took the opportunity to discuss how the BBC’s proposed changes to local radio will disproportionately impact certain communities.

This includes the blind and visually impaired, journalists, local papers, and those who do not have access to the internet.

Big thank you to the National Federation of the Blind, the National Union of Journalists, the Digital Poverty Alliance, and the News Media Association who took the time to be at the event.

The BBC have got this wrong.

It is not too late for them to think again and secure the future of local radio.
